As we approach the spookiest night of the year, my full-length novel, HIGHCRAG, is on a special promotion at 99p (99c) for one week.

This is my longest novel and one I very much enjoyed researching and writing a few years ago. Although set in the present, the story refers to the infamous Scottish witch trials of the past, a time of dreadful crimes against innocent women, and some men.

An ancestor of the heroine, Cate, was one of those victims in the east coast of Scotland – one of the reasons Cate takes the job cataloguing the vast library at Highcrag. However, she is soon caught up in the mystery and unsavoury past surrounding the house.

Unexpectedly drawn to the owner, Lyall, she is also increasingly aware of approaching danger in the lead-up to Samhain and no longer knows who to trust.

Here are just a few of the lovely reviews and comments Highcrag received:

‘There is more Gothic suspense than romance in this very enjoyable novel and plenty of engaging characters to keep the reader guessing until the very end.’

‘If you enjoy mystery and suspense with a dash of romance then Highcrag will most certainly meet your expectations. The historical background, though important, is introduced with a lightness of touch which make it all the more believable.’

‘Enjoyable gothic romantic suspense, reminiscent of the old Mary Stewart books.’

'I love Scottish themed novels and this one did not disappoint. Good page turning quality. The plot, characterisation and dialogue demonstrate the mark of an excellent story weaver.’

HIGHCRAG is available in e-book and print:
